Beginning Beekeeping Class

The Virginia Beekeeping Teaching Consortium (VBTA) is offering Practical Beekeeping for Beginners. The class is intensive, meets once a week for approximately two months and is designed primarily for people who want to keep bees.

​

Books include:

Diana Sammataro, The Beekeepers Handbook, 4th edition

Mid Atlantic Apiculture (MAAREC) Beekeeping Basics

Honey Bee Parasite, Pests, Predators,Diseases and handouts

Membership in Rappahannock Area Beekeepers Association and Virginia Beekeepers Association included

Class will be taught by an experienced beekeeper and includes information on buying equipment and obtaining bees to start honeybee colonies.

Class begins  Saturday Febuary 3rd, 2024, 10:00am to 1200pm and runs through March, at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Caroline St., Fredericksburg VA  22401

Tuition is $100 per family unit. Classes are open to adults and children (age 10+ accompanied by a paying adult). Instruction is limited to 20 students. Registration is first night of class.
